1/20/2024 0 Comments Norwegian air shuttle asNorwegian sold the aircraft used to fly to long-haul destinations. The company used to have also long-distance routes to America and Asia but to save operational costs, Norwegian decided to concentrate only on shorter routes while terminating all the long-haul flights. Norwegian has short-haul routes to more than 100 destinations in Europe and areas nearby. This plane took passengers to Split, Croatia. Norwegian is popular, especially among holidaymakers. Even though there is not much legroom, we have never felt seats would have been too tightly packed. It is still good to understand that Norwegian is a low-cost airline and passengers should not expect much space around the seat. Since the aircraft are new, they are also neat looking. Seats are thin and comfortable enough for short-haul travelling. The cabin looks spacious with colour-changing led lights. Norwegian's Boeing aircraft have Boeing Sky Interior cabin design. Norwegian has a little less than 70 aircraft. That means MAX can fly longer routes without a need for refuelling on the way. A regular passenger may not notice differences between these types but a MAX aircraft is just a little bigger and it has a longer range. The airline has also acquired a few Boeing 737 MAXes. Norwegian's short-haul fleet consists mainly of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Travellers get Cashpoints that can be used to pay for Norwegian flights in the future. Norwegian Reward is not a typical mile collecting program rather it is based on a payback model with extra rewards. Low-cost airlines rarely have loyalty programs but Norwegian is one on the shortlist. A good example of that is the airline's loyalty program Norwegian Reward. Norwegian has not just copied the low-cost business model but the airline has made it even better. With the current high energy costs, lower operating costs are also good for passengers' wallets. Having that said, aircraft have high fuel efficiency which reduces emissions and fuel burn. Norwegian is a low-cost airline which boosts itself by operating with some of Europe's newest and greenest fleets. All the companies operate under the same Norwegian brand so passengers rarely know with which company they are flying. The company has two subsidiaries: Norwegian Air Norway and Norwegian Air Sweden. It is the fourth largest low-cost carrier in Europe behind Wizz Air, easyJet and Ryanair. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA was founded already in 1983. We ended up choosing Tivat, Montenegro where Norwegian took us safely. The airline had flights to many summer destinations on sale. In summer 2022, we were happy to notice that Norwegian was again a viable option to fly for a summer holiday. Luckily, the airline is now back in the air and flying again to many destinations in Europe and a few destinations outside the European zone. Unfortunately, the airline faced a severe financial problem which consequently made Norwegian a much smaller company. It had many leisure routes in Europe and also many medium-haul as well as long-haul flights to different destinations around the globe. Norwegian Air Shuttle used to be one of the fastest-growing airlines in Europe a few years ago.
